Abstract

ABSTRACT A CONTENT ANALYSIS OF TEXTBOOKS ENTITTLE: PATHWAY TO ENGLISH AND BAHASA INGGRIS IN THE TENTH GRADE OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AT SMA IT BABUL HIKMAH KALIANDA Textbook should improve the quality of teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study is to find whether or not the materials provided in the English textbook “Pathway to English” and “Bahasa Inggris” designed for the tenth grade of Senior high school compatible with the curriculum 2013.This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The results findings of this study concluded that (1) the compatible with the curriculum 2013. (2) The materials provided in the textbook completely developed. (3) The feasibility of content. Using the basic frequency formula from SadimanPercentage and CompatibilityClassification acquired with 92.68% and 95.12% in feasibility of content fulfilled. Based on the findings of this study the researcher suggested that both English teachers and educational institution should concern and pay attention with the content of the textbook, not only its compatibility with the current curriculum, but also the compatible with students‟ needs.
