Abstract
ABSTRACT Cognitive style refers to an individual's way of processing information and solving problems. Self-regulated learning is a learning process that requires students to independently seek and understand material, especially when direct interaction time with teachers is limited. Meanwhile, mathematical problem-solving ability refers to the student's competence in solving mathematical problems using systematic steps. This study aims to determine the relationship between cognitive style and self-regulated learning with students' mathematical problemsolving abilities. The research employed a correlational method, which is a quantitative approach used to measure the relationship between two or more variables through statistical analysis. The population of this study consisted of all eighth-grade students at SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with proportionate stratified random sampling, which considers the proportion of each stratum within the population randomly. This technique was carefully implemented to ensure that the sample accurately represents the entire population. The data collection instruments included three types: the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) to measure cognitive style, a questionnaire to assess self-regulated learning, and essay questions designed to evaluate mathematical problem-solving ability based on indicators such as understanding the problem, planning a solution, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the results. Data analysis in this study can be concluded that no significant relationship was found between cognitive style and self-regulated learning on mathematical problem-solving abilities.
