Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dengan strategi Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi Experimental Design. Desain yang digunakan yaitu posttest-only control group design dengan tiga kelompok. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII A, B, C, dan D SMPN 26 Pesawaran tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan cluster random sampling yaitu sebanyak tiga kelas, kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen I yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran TGT dengan strategi LSQ, kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen II dengan model pembelajaran TGT, dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji prasyarat (normalitas dan homogenitas) serta uji hipotesis menggunakan uji MANOVA. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis yang telah dilakukan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dengan strategi Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal ini dapat diliat dari perhitungan menggunakan MANOVA diperoleh tingkat signifikansi Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran TGT, Strategi LSQ, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, dan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis. iii ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model combined with the Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) strategy on students’ mathematical problem solving and critical thinking skills. This research is a quantitative study using a Quasi-Experimental Design. The design employed was a posttest-only control group design with three groups. The population of this study consisted of all eighth grade students of classes VIII A, B, C, and D at SMPN 26 Pesawaran in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, consisting of three classes: class VIII C as the first experimental group taught using the TGT model with the LSQ strategy, class VIII A as the second experimental group taught using the TGT model, and class VIII D as the control group taught using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The data were collected through essay tests designed to measure students’ mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking skills, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis included prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity) and hypothesis testing using MANOVA. The results of the hypothesis testing showed that there was a significant effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model combined with the Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) strategy on students’ mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The MANOVA test results obtained a significance It can be concluded that the TGT learning model combined with the LSQ strategy significantly affects students’ mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
