Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil pra-penelitian di SMP Negeri 1 Belitang III yang menunjukkan rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan pemecahan masalah siswa. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kesulitan siswa dalam menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan situasi nyata dan asumsi bahwa matematika adalah mata pelajaran yang sulit. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diterapkan model pembelajaran Inside Ouside Circle (IOC). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Inside Ouside Circle (IOC) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika dan pemecahan masalah siswa, serta hubungan antara kedua kemampuan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain posttest only control design. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan melalui cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan pemecahan masalah. Uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji multivariate (MANOVA). Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat ditarik kesimpulan: 1) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Inside Ouside Circle (IOC) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, 2) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Inside Ouside Circle (IOC) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, 3) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Inside Ouside Circle (IOC) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, 4) Terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. This is due to the difficulty of students in relating mathematical concepts to real situations and the assumption that mathematics is a difficult subject. To overcome this, it is necessary to implement an innovative learning model, namely the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model. This study aims to determine the influence of the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) model on students' mathematical communication and problem solving skills, as well as the relationship between these two abilities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a posttest only control design. The sampling technique was carried out through cluster random sampling. Data collection was carried out using mathematical communication and problem-solving ability test instruments. The hypothesis test in this study uses the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) test. Based on the results of the analysis, conclusions can be drawn: 1) There is an impact of the Inside Ouside Circle (IOC) learning model on students' mathematical communication skills and problem-solving skills, 2) There is an impact of the Inside Ouside Circle (IOC) learning model on students' mathematical communication skills, 3) There is an impact of the Inside Ouside Circle learning model (IOC) on students' problem-solving skills, 4) There is a relationship between mathematical communication skills and students' problem-solving skills.
