Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan self-confidence merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran modern, tetapi masih rendah di kalangan siswa. Pendekatan metaphorical thinking, yang mengaitkan konsep abstrak dengan pengalaman nyata, berpotensi meningkatkan kemampuan ini. Dengan bantuan aplikasi CapCut, siswa dapat memvisualisasikan materi secara interaktif dan menarik. Selain itu, self-confidence memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung keberanian berpikir kritis, sedangkan thinking style memengaruhi cara siswa merespons metode pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh metaphorical thinking berbantuan CapCut terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan self-confidence, ditinjau dari thinking style siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah two-way MANOVA,subyek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII MTS Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung yang memungkinkan analisis pengaruh variabel metode pembelajaran dan thinking style terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self-confidence. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua kelas, yaitu kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan metaphorical thinking berbantuan CapCut, di mana siswa memvisualisasikan konsep abstrak melalui video kreatif, sementara kelas kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil menunjukkan metaphorical thinking berbantuan CapCut secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence dibandingkan metode konvensional. Siswa mengalami peningkatan terbesar pada thinking style acak konkret dalam berpikir kritis dan self-confidence. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan berbasis teknologi kreatif yang disesuaikan dengan gaya berpikir efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, baik dalam keterampilan kognitif maupun afektif. Kata Kunci: Metaphorical Thinking, Aplikasi CapCut, Berpikir Kritis, Self-Confidence, Thinking Style. ii ABSTRACT Mathematical critical thinking skills and self-confidence are important aspects of modern learning, but are still low among students. The metaphorical thinking approach, which links abstract concepts with real-life experiences, has the potential to improve these abilities. With the help of CapCut application, students can visualize the material in an interactive and interesting way. In addition, self-confidence plays an important role in supporting critical thinking, while thinking style influences how students respond to learning methods. This study aims to analyze the effect of metaphorical thinking assisted by CapCut on mathematical critical thinking ability and self-confidence, in terms of students' thinking style. The method used is two-way MANOVA, the subjects of this research are students of class VIII MTS Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung which allows analyzing the effect of learning method variables and thinking style on critical thinking ability and self-confidence. This research was conducted in two classes, namely control class and experimental class. The experimental class used CapCut-assisted metaphorical thinking approach, where students visualize abstract concepts through creative videos, while the control class used conventional learning methods. The results showed that metaphorical thinking assisted by CapCut significantly improved critical thinking skills and self confidence compared to conventional methods. Students experienced the greatest improvement in concrete random thinking style in critical thinking and self-confidence. This finding confirms that a creative technology-based approach tailored to thinking styles effectively improves student learning outcomes, both in cognitive and affective skills.
