Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika merupakan suatu kemampuan yang perlu dikuasai oleh peserta didik. Berdasarkan pra penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung terlihat bahwa masih banyak peserta didik yang belum mencapai KKM. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kritis peserta didik masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, peneliti tertarik untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kritis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat adanya pengaruh model pembelajaran CLIS terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kritis ditinjau dari aktivitas belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif jenis Quasy Eksperimental Design. Subyek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung dengan jumlah populasi 152 peserta didik. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model CLIS dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol menggunakan model konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes, angket dan observasi. Pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji Manova Dua Arah (Two Way Manova). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa, kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CLIS lebih baik digunakan dibandingkan dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran ekspositori, namun dapat diketahui bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik lebih baik dibandingkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran CLIS dan peserta didik lebih baik dengan aktivitas belajar tinggi dibandingkan aktivitas belajar sedang dan rendah. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis, Berpikir Kritis, Model CLIS dan Aktivitas Belajar. iv ABSTRACT Mathematical communication skills and critical thinking of students in learning mathematics is an ability that needs to be mastered by students. Based on pre-research conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung, it appears that there are still many students who have not reached the KKM. This shows that the ability of mathematical communication and critical thinking of students is still low. Therefore, researchers are interested in applying learning models that can improve mathematical communication skills and critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the CLIS learning model on mathematical communication skills and critical thinking in terms of students' learning activities. This research is a quantitative research type Quasy Experimental Design. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung with a population of 152 students. The samples in this study were class VIII A as the experimental class using the CLIS model and class VIII B as the control class using the conventional model. Data collection techniques in the form of tests, questionnaires and observations. Hypothesis testing in this study used the Two Way Manova test. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that, the ability of mathematical communication and critical thinking of students using the CLIS learning model is better used than students who use the expository learning model, but it can be seen that the critical thinking ability of students is better than the mathematical communication ability by applying the CLIS learning model and students are better with high learning activities than medium and low learning activities.
