Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis. Berdasarkan hasil Pra Penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP Al-Huda Jati Agung, menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis peserta didik SMP Al-Huda Jati Agung masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini disebabkan karena peserta didik banyak yang tidak aktif untuk bertanya atau menjawab pada saat pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis peserta didik, (2) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, dan (3) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasy experimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Al-Huda Jati Agung. Sampel dari penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran menggunakan Model Elicitng Activities (MEAs) dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran menggunakan saintifc. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji MANOVA dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 diperoleh dari hasil H0AB ditolak. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh Model Elicitng Activities (MEAs) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis peserta didik, (2) terdapat pengaruh Model Elicitng Activities (MEAs) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis, (3) terdapat pengaruh Model Elicitng Activities (MEAs) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis Kata kunci: Kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan reprsentasi matematis peserta didik, Model Elicitng Activities (MEAs). iv ABSTRACT The research was motivated by the low ability of critical thinking and mathematical representation. Based on the results of pre-research conducted at Al-Huda Jati Agung Junior High School, it showed that the critical thinking and mathematical representation skills of Al-Huda Jati Agung Junior High School students were still relatively low. The reason for this is that many students are not actively engaged in asking or answering questions during learning. The purpose of this study were (1) to determine the effect of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on improving students' critical thinking and mathematical representation skills, (2) to determine the effect of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on improving students' critical thinking skills, and (3) to determine the effect of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on improving students' mathematical representation skills. The type of this research was quasy experimental. The population of this study were all students of class VIII of Al-Huda Jati Agung Junior High School. The sample of this study was class VIII B as an experimental class with learning using the Elicitng Activities Model (MEAs) and class VIII C as a control class with learning using science. The data analysis technique used was the MANOVA test with a significance level of 0.05 obtained from the results of H0AB rejected. So it can be concluded that (1) there was an effect of the Elicitng Activities Model (MEAs) on improving critical thinking skills and representation of the students' knowledge. (2) there was an effect of the Model Elicitng Activities (MEAs) on improving critical thinking skills, (3) there was an effect of the Elicitng Activities Model (MEAs) on improving critical thinking skills.
