Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berjudul “Efektivitas Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) sebagai Sarana Temu Kembali Informasi Bagi Mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia”. Batasan masalah peneliti pada penelitian ini adalah Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) yang dikelola Perpustakaan Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Perkembangan teknologi khususnya di perpustakaan Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia menunjukkan hal positif. Namun, dalam upaya memberikan layanan beberapa Mahasiswa/i atau pemustaka saat mencari koleksi buku belum optimal dalam memanfaatkan fasilitas (layanan) perpustakaan secara efektif. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pengaruh dan seberapa efektivitas OPAC sebagai sarana temu kembali informasi bagi mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh dan seberapa efektif OPAC terhadap temu kembali informasi bagi mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Ialah sesuatu pengujian teori tertentu yang digunakan dengan cara menguji hubungan antara variabel. Dengan metode survei menggabungkan informasi dari sekelompok orang sebagai sampel dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner ataupun angket. Untuk sampel diambil dari populasi mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia yang berjumlah 4613. Populasi tersebut tidak memungkinkan peneliti untuk mempelajari semuanya, maka peneliti menggunakan rumus slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan 0,01 (10%) maka jumlah sampel sebanyak 97 responden dari mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan Regresi Linier Sederhana yang didasarkan pada hubungan fungsional ataupun kausal satu variabel independent dengan satu variabel dependen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan instrumen penelitian data yang telah diperoleh, Mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Tingkat capaian responden dari deskripsi jawaban responden menunjukkan bahwa variabel X (Efektivitas OPAC) 75,98 iii dikategorikan Baik, berpengaruh terhadap variabel Y (Temu Kembali Informasi) 59,89 dikategorikan Cukup Baik dilihat dari pengkategorian menurut skala interval. keunggulan persyaratan analisis regresi linear sederhana, sebelum pengujian hipotesis perlu dilakukan uji prasyarat analisis terhadap data hasil penelitian. uji prasyarat pada penelitian ini yaitu, uji normalitas, uji linearitas dan analisis regresi sederhana. Data yang diperoleh dari uji normalitas, dapat diketahui nilai signifikansi data sebesar 0,088. Karena nilai signifikansi lebih dari 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai residual berdistribusi normal. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil uji Linearitas diketahui nilai signifikansi Defiation from Linearity sebesar 0,963. Karena nilai signifikansi lebih dari 0,05 maka hubungan antara variabel independent (Efektivitas Online Public Access Catalog) dengan variabel dependent (Temu Kembali Informasi) dinyatakan linear. Kata Kunci: Efektivitas, Online Public Access Catalog, Temu Kembali Informasi iv ABSTRACT This research is entitled "Effectiveness of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) as a Means of Information Retrieval for Indonesian Technocrat University Students". The limitation of the researcher's problem in this research is the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) which is managed by the Indonesian Technocrat University Library. Technological developments, especially in the Indonesian Technocrat University library, show positive things. However, in an effort to provide services for some students or users when searching for book collections, they have not been optimal in utilizing library facilities (services) effectively. The formulation of the problem in this research is how influential and how effective OPAC is as a means of information retrieval for students at the Indonesian Technocratic University. The aim of this research is to find out how influential and how effective OPAC is on information retrieval for Indonesian Technocrat University students. This study uses a quantitative approach. It is a test of a particular theory that is used by testing the relationship between variables. The survey method combines information from a group of people as a sample and the data collection technique used is a questionnaire or questionnaire. The sample was taken from the student population of the Indonesian Teknocrat University, numbering 4613. This population did not allow the researcher to study all of them, so the researcher used the Slovin formula with an error rate of 0.01 (10%) so the total sample was 97 respondents from the Indonesian Teknocrat University students. This research instrument uses Simple Linear Regression which is based on the functional or causal relationship of one independent variable with one dependent variable. Based on the research results and data research instruments that have been obtained, Indonesian Technocrat University students. The level of achievement of respondents from the description of respondents' answers shows that variable The superiority of the requirements for simple linear regression analysis is that before testing v the hypothesis, it is necessary to test the prerequisite analysis of the research data. The prerequisite tests in this research are, normality test, linearity test and simple regression analysis. Data obtained from the normality test can be seen as a data significance value of 0.088. Because the significance value is more than 0.05, it can be concluded that the residual value is normally distributed. Data obtained from the Linearity test results show that the significance value of Defiation from Linearity is 0.963. Because the significance value is more than 0.05, the relationship between the independent variable (Effectiveness of Online Public Access Catalog) and the dependent variable (Information Retrieval) is declared linear.
