Abstract

ABSTRAK Peran kepala sekolah sebagai leader sangat luas dan banyak sekali bidangnya, tidak hanya terbatas dalam kelancaran proses belajar mengajar saja, melainkan menyangkut semua aspek kependidikan baik yang bersifat edukatif maupun non edukatif. Kepala sekolah juga berperan sebagai kekuatan sentral yang menjadi kekuatan penggerak kehidupan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Kepala Sekolah SDIT Fitrah Insani Bandar Lampung melaksanakan perannya sebagai leader yakni kepala sekolah harus memiliki visi yang jelas (perumusan visi), mampu memotivasi warga sekolah untuk memajukan sekolah (motivator), dan mampu membuat keputusan dengan tepat (pembuat keputusan). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (field research). Sumber data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yakni sumber data yang dikumpulkan langsung dari informan yaitu kepala sekolah dan guru yang menjadi obejek penelitian. Sumber data sekunder yakni sumber data yang diperoleh secara tidak langsung seperti, catatan, laporan dan arsip. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan penulis, yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan penulis tentang peran kepala sekolah sebagai leader di SDIT Fitrah Insani Bandar Lampumg yaitu Kepala Sekolah mampu melaksanakan perannya sebagai leader dengan baik. Kepala sekolah telah melakukan perannya melalui tiga aspek yaitu, kepala sekolah harus memiliki visi yang jelas (perumusan visi), mampu memotivasi warga sekolah untuk memajukan sekolah (motivator), dan mampu membuat keputusan dengan tepat (pembuat keputusan). Ke tiga aspek utama yang penulis teliti sesuai dengan teori Nurtanio Agus Purwanto dan pendapat informan yang penulis teliti. The principal also plays the role of the central force that is the driving force of school life. This study aims to find out how the Principal of SDIT Fitrah Insani Bandar Lampung carries out his role as a leader, namely the principal must have a clear vision (vision formulation), be able to motivate school residents to advance the school (motivator), and be able to make decisions appropriately (decision maker). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the type of field research (field research). The data sources in this study used primary data, namely data sources collected directly from informants, namely principals and teachers who became research objects. Secondary data sources are data sources obtained indirectly such as records, reports and archives. Data analysis techniques consist of, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Data collection techniques carried out by the author, namely interviews and documentation. The results of the research conducted by the author on the role of the principal as a leader at SDIT Fitrah Insani Bandar Lampumg, namely that the Principal is able to carry out his role as a leader well. The principal has performed his role through three aspects, namely, the principal must have a clear vision (vision formulation), be able to motivate school residents to advance the school (motivator), and be able to make decisions appropriately (decision maker). The three main aspects that the author examined in accordance with the theory of Nurtanio Agus Purwanto and the opinions of informants that the author researched. Keywords: Principal, Leader, Role
