Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted based on the phenomena that happened in the social interactions. Pronunciation is one of important composition in English. The actor at the comedy drama Mind Your Language still made pronunciation errors especially in using fricatives. The objectives of this research were to find out the types of fricatives errors pronunciation in comedy drama Mind Your Language by Pakistani actor, and to know the causes of errors pronunciation in comedy drama Mind Your Language made by Pakistani actor. The research methodology was used descriptive qualitative. The data were taken fromthe internet to download movies. The population of this research. was all the sentences that are uttered by Pakistani actor, The sample of this research was 22 words containing errors in uttering fricative based on Linguistic Category Taxonomy. The result of the research showed that there were some errors in uttering fricative. They were [θ], [ð], [v] errors made by the actor. Generally, the actor made such kinds of errors because he does not know how to pronounce the words correctly and the influence his mother tongue.
