Abstract

ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUE IN TEMPLE GRANDIN MOVIE BY MICK JACKSON BY: NINDIRA IKA HAWANA Literature is a reflection of life with all existing works. Literary works are the result of human creativity in addition to providing entertainment and providing valuable advice, both aesthetic and educational. Movie as literature is an audiovisual work in the form of moving images consisting of scenes. Movies can also add knowledge and moral values that we can learn from a movie by an author. From a movie we can learn about a character, socio-culture or maybe even related to a certain topic. The relationship between moral values and education can be seen from the purpose of education. In this research, the researcher used the qualitative descriptive method, in which the data in this research is in the form of words and descriptions. The data source is taken from “Temple Grandin” movie audio visual and transcript dialogue which has a moral message or narration by the character who represented the moral message. This research instrument is being carried out either by the researcher or human research. The data were analyzed by three steps there are: Determination of Analysis, Data collection and Interference. The research subject of this research is a “Temple Grandin” movie by Mick Jackson. The aim of the research is to find out what moral values are contained in the “Temple Grandin” movie are in line with the character of education. The result of this research about the moral values contained in this movie are hard work, effort, courage, confidence, caring and helping each other, honor, openness (honesty), humility and always remembering God. These moral values are in accordance with the goals of education, where the goals are to create a child's character who is knowledgeable, devout, independent and has noble character.
