Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara mengembangkan e-book berbasis socioscientific issue untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, mengetahui kelayakan e-book berbasis socioscientific issue terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, mengetahui respon guru dan siswa terhadap kemenarikan e-book berbasis socioscientific issue terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, mengetahui keefektifan e-book berbasis socioscientific issue terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengadopsi model pengembangan 4D yang dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan (1974). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 2 Metro. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, angket respon guru dan siswa, angket validasi ahli materi, angket validasi ahli media, serta pre-test dan post-test. Pada penelitian ini, teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah teknik analisis deskriptif, yaitu menganalisis data dengan mendeskripsikan atau menggambarkan data yang telah dikumpulkan. Analisis data yang dikumpulkan pada penelitian ini ialah data kevalidan dan data keefektifan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah; telah dikembangkan media pembelajaran berupa e-book berbasis socioscientific issue untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi mendapatkan penilaian persentase rata – rata 91,11% dalam kategori sangat layak, penilaian ahli media mendapatkan penilaian persentase rata – rata 83,33% dalam kategori sangat layak dan penilaian guru SMK mendapatkan penilaian persentase sebesar 77,33% dengan kategori layak, sedangkan respon siswa mendapatkan persentase sebesar 82,36% dengan kategori sangat layak, serta hasil rata – rata N-gain Score adalah 0.7255 dalam kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan penilaian oleh ahli materi, ahli media, respon guru dan siswa, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-book berbasis socioscientific issue terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Kata kunci : E-Book, Socioscientific Issue, Berpikir Kritis iii ABSTRACT This study aims to determine how to develop a socioscientific issue-based e-book to improve students' critical thinking skills, determine the feasibility of socioscientific issue-based e-books on students' critical thinking skills, determine teacher and student responses to the attractiveness of socioscientific issue-based e-books on students' critical thinking skills, determine the effectiveness of socioscientific issue-based e-books on students' critical thinking skills. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method by adopting the 4D development model proposed by Thiagarajan (1974). The subjects in this study were X grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Metro. The data of this study were obtained from interviews, teacher and student response questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, media expert validation questionnaires, as well as pre�test and post-test. In this study, the data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis technique, which is analyzing data by describing or describing the data that has been collected. Data analysis collected in this study is validity data and effectiveness data. The results of this study are; learning media has been developed in the form of a socioscientific issue-based e-book to improve students' critical thinking skills, based on the assessment of material experts getting an average percentage assessment of 91.11% in the very feasible category, media expert assessment getting an average percentage assessment of 83.33% in the very feasible category and SMK teacher assessment getting a percentage assessment of 77.33% in the feasible category, while student responses get a percentage of 82.36% in the very feasible category, and the average N-gain Score is 0.7255 in the high category. Based on the assessment by material experts, media experts, teacher and student responses, it can be concluded that the socioscientific issue-based e-book on students' critical thinking skills is suitable for use as learning media.
