Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini di latar belakangi adanya faktor rendahnya kemampuan Scientific reassoning peserta didik. Masalah yang akan diteliti yaitu mengenai pengaruh model pembelajaran Inquiry-Based Learning terhadap kemampuan Scientific Reasoning peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi Eksperimen menggunakan desain Randomized Control Group Only Posttest Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 232 peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Metro. Sampel penelitian inti terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII 4 sebagai kelas Eksperimen dan kelas VIII 5 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling sederhana. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes pilihan ganda beralasan yang berjumlah 24 butir soal yang dikembangkan berdasarkan Lawson Classroom Test Scientific Reasoning (LCTSR). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh data yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan modle pembelajaran Inquiry-Based Learning terhadap kemampuan Scientific Reasoning peserta didik. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil signifikan yang diperoleh sebesar 0,000 yang berarti sig.<0,05 sehingga H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut terbukti bahwa model pembelajaran Inquiry-Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan Scientific Reasoning peserta didik. Kata Kunci: Model pembelajaran Inquiry-Based Learning, Scientific Reasoning iv ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low factor of the scientific reasoning ability of students. The problem to be studied is the influence of the Inquiry-Based Learning model on the Scientific Reasoning ability of students. This research is a Quasi Experiment using Randomized Control Group Only Posttest Design. The population in this study amounted to 232 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Metro. The core research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII 4 as the experimental class and class VIII 5 as the control class which was selected by simple random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was in the form of a reasoned multiple choice test, which consisted of 24 questions. Based on the research that has been done, data is obtained showing that there is an effect of using the Inquiry-Based Learning learning model on the students' Scientific Reasoning ability. This is indicated by the significant results obtained of 0.000 which means sig. <0.05 so that H1 is accepted. Based on these results, it is proven that the Inquiry-Based Learning model affects the students' Scientific Reasoning ability. Keywords: Inquiry-Based Learning Model, Scientific Reasoning
