Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kontribusi pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pembelajaran sains berdasarkan kategori, jenjang pendidikan dan kontribusi berdasarkan wilayah. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data diambil dari lima tahun terakhir (2017-2021), yang dilakukan di database Google Scholar, ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) dan Scopus. Hasil dari keseluruhan data jurnal yang diperoleh bahwa Besar kontribusi (Effect Size) Pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematic berdasarkan kategori secara keseluruhan sebesar 0.61 termasuk kategori sedang sejumlah 9 artikel. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematic (STEAM) memberikan kontribusi serta efektif digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Besar kontribusi pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematic (STEAM) berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa baik di jenjang pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dengan nilai effect size sebesar 0.75 dengan kategori sedang sejumlah 3 artikel dan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dengan nilai effect size sebesar 0.53 dengan katogori sedang sejumlah 6 artikel. Dan besar kontribusi pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematic (STEAM) berdasarkan wilayah diperoleh effect size di Pulau Jawa sebesar 0.68 sejumlah 8 artikel sedangkan effect size di Pulau Sumatera sebesar 0.66 sejumlah 1 artikel. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematic (STEAM) di wilayah Pulau Jawa dan Pulau Sumatera mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Kata kunci: STEAM, Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif, Pembelajaran Sains. iii ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to determine how big the contribution of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach to students' creative thinking skills in learning science by category, level of education and contribution by region. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. Data collection was taken from the last five years (2017-2021), which was carried out in the Google Scholar database, ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) and Scopus. The overall result of journal data obtained that the effect size of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematical approach based on the overall category is 0.61 including the medium category of 9 articles. This shows that the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematical (STEAM) approach contributes and it is effectively used in learning activities that aim to improve students' creative thinking skills. The contribution of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematical (STEAM) approach based on education level is able to improve students' creative thinking skills both at the Junior High School (SMP) education level with an effect size value of 0.75 with a moderate category of 3 articles and in the High School (SMA) with an effect size value of 0.53 with a moderate category of 6 articles. And the large contribution of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematical (STEAM) approach based on the region, the effect size on Java Island was 0.68 with 8 articles, while the effect size on Sumatra Island was 0.66 for 1 article. It’s shows that the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematical (STEAM) approach in the Java and Sumatra Islands is able to improve students' creative thinking skills.
