Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode REACT terhadap keterampilan proses sains Peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 2 Jati Agung pada pembelajaran IPA pokok bahasan getaran gelombang. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 2 Jati Agung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu quasy eksperiment. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model pembelajaan REACT dan kelas VIII F sebagai kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen penelitian lembar observasi tes keterampilan proses sains berupa soal essay. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran yang dilakukan diperoleh nilai rata-rata keterampilan proses sains kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebesar 56,31% dan 46,51 % dapat dilihat bahwa kelas eksperimen menunjukkan nilainya lebih tinggi. Hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh diuji dengan menggunakan uji N-Gain keterampilan proses sains kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,44 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,36. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain dari kedua kelas masuk dalam kriteria sedang. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa data berdistribusi normal Lhitung < Ltabel dan homogen Fhitung < Ftabel sehingga diuji menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 diperoleh Fhitung < Ftabel sebesar 2,33 > 1,67 yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Untuk melihat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaan REACT terhadap keterampilan proses sains peserta didik menggunakan uji effect size diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,32 dengan kategori sedang. Kata Kunci: model pembelajaan REACT, keterampilan proses sains, getaran dan gelombang. iii ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the REACT method on the science process skills of eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Jati Agung in science learning the subject of wave vibrations. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Jati Agung. The research method used in this research is quasi experiment. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique with class VIII A as the experimental class using the REACT learning model and class VIII F as the control class with the conventional learning model. The researcher used the research instrument, the observation sheet, the science process skills test, in the form of essay questions. Based on the measurement results, the average value of science process skills in the experimental class and control class is 56.31% and 46.51%, it can be seen that the experimental class shows a higher value. The research results that have been obtained were tested using the N-Gain test of science process skills in the experimental class of 0.44 and the control class of 0.36. The average value of N-Gain from both classes is in the medium criteria. Based on the research data, it was obtained that the data were normally distributed Lcount < Ltable and homogeneous Fcount < Ftable so that it was tested using the t-test with a significant level of 0.05 obtained Fcount < Ftable of 2.33 > 1.67 which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. To see the effect of applying the REACT learning model to the science process skills of students using the effect size test, a score of 0.32 was obtained in the medium category.
