Abstract

ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF EDUCATIONAL VALUE IN BILAL IS A NEW BREED OF HERO MOVIE BY YUNITA AUDINA FABRU The movie "Bilal A New Breed of Hero" is a movie in which some parts of its story reflect the concept of education. The concept of education In this movie related to an educational value according to Linda and Richard Eyre's perspective. Good values have to be inculcated in the individual’s mind right from childhood. To instill the educational value, the teacher needs media that can be used as a tool in the teaching learning process and at the same time deliver educational value to the students. One of the media is a movie. Thus, this research discussed the educational value in Bilal a New Breed of Hero Movie. This research was done with the purpose to find out the types of educational value in the movie and describing the educational value presented in the movie. The researcher used the theory of SPEAKING model by Dell Hymes to analyze the educational value in the movie. This research was the descriptive qualitative method and the main instrument of the research is the researcher herself. In collecting the data, the researcher used the documentation method. To validate the data, the researcher used investigator triangulation. After analyzing Bilal a New Breed of Hero Movie, this research found thirty-five utterances that contain types of educational values. They were included in eleven divisions such as honesty, brave, self�confidence, self-discipline, purity, loyalty, respect, unselfishness, love, kindness, and humanist. The most common types that appeared were purity and love, the lower types were honesty and unselfishness. Keywords: Educational Value, Bilal A New Breed of Hero Movie, Descriptive Qualitative
