Abstract

ABSTRAK Perkembangan industri farmasi yang semakin pesat meningkatkan minat investor terhadap perusahaan farmasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Dalam pengambilan keputusan investasi, investor tidak hanya memperhatikan besarnya laba, tetapi juga kualitas laba yang mencerminkan kondisi perusahaan secara nyata. Namun, praktik pengelolaan laba serta pertumbuhan laba, Investment Opportunity Set (IOS), dan struktur modal yang tidak dikelola secara optimal dapat memengaruhi kualitas laba yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh parsial pertumbuhan laba dan Investment Opportunity Set (IOS) terhadap kualitas laba, menguji peran mediasi struktur modal, serta mengukur kemampuan model dalam menjelaskan variasi kualitas laba melalui koefisien determinasi (R2). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif yang menggunakan data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan perusahaan farmasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2021–2024. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan metode Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) dengan bantuan SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pertumbuhan Laba berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Kualitas Laba. Investment Opportunity Set (IOS), Pertumbuhan Laba terhadap Struktur Modal, Investment Opportunity Set (IOS) terhadap Struktur Modal, serta Struktur Modal terhadap Kualitas Laba tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Selain itu, Struktur Modal tidak mampu memediasi pengaruh Pertumbuhan Laba terhadap Kualitas Laba maupun pengaruh Investment Opportunity Set (IOS) terhadap Kualitas Laba. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hanya Pertumbuhan Laba yang berpengaruh terhadap Kualitas Laba, sedangkan variabel lainnya tidak menunjukkan pengaruh maupun peran mediasi yang signifikan pada perusahaan farmasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2021–2024. ABSCRACT The rapid development of the pharmaceutical industry has increased investor interest in pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). In making investment decisions, investors pay attention not only to the size of profits, but also the quality of profits that reflect the company's real condition. However, profit management practices and profit growth, Investment Opportunity Set (IOS), and capital structures that are not optimally managed can affect the quality of profits generated. This study aims to analyze the partial influence of profit growth and Investment Opportunity Set (IOS) on profit quality, test the mediating role of capital structure, and measure the model's ability to explain variations in profit quality through the determination coefficient (R2). This research is an associative quantitative research that uses secondary data in the form of financial statements of pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2021–2024. The samples were selected using purposive sampling techniques and analyzed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS. The results of the study show that Profit Growth has a positive and significant effect on Profit Quality. Investment Opportunity Set (IOS), Profit Growth to Capital Structure, Investment Opportunity Set (IOS) to Capital Structure, and Capital Structure to Profit Quality did not have a significant effect. In addition, the Capital Structure is not able to mediate the effect of Profit Growth on Profit Quality or the effect of Investment Opportunity Set (IOS) on Profit Quality. These results show that only Profit Growth has an effect on Profit Quality, while other variables do not show a significant influence or mediating role on pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2021–2024 period.
