Abstract

Abstract: This article examines the dynamics of harmony between Muslims and Hindus in Teluk Kiluan Village, Kelumbayan District, Tanggamus Regency. Specifically, this study analyzes the social construction that has formed and the role of social capital in strengthening interfaith harmony. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation and structured interviews with religious leaders, community leaders, and local residents. The analysis was based on Robert D. Putnam's social capital theory, focusing on bonding social capital for internal solidarity and bridging social capital for cross-group cooperation. The results show that social construction built through intensive interaction and mutual respect can create harmony in both social and spiritual dimensions. Furthermore, social capital in the form of mutual cooperation and reciprocal relationships has been shown to strengthen social cohesion and facilitate conflict resolution through kinship, deliberation, and mediation. These findings confirm that harmony in Teluk Kiluan Village is not only created independently by the community but is also supported by the active role of the village government through its religious moderation support program. Abstrak: Artikel ini mengkaji dinamika harmonisasi antara pemeluk agama Islam dan Hindu di Pekon Teluk Kiluan, Kecamatan Kelumbayan, Kabupaten Tanggamus. Secara khusus, penelitian ini menganalisis konstruksi sosial yang terbentuk serta peran modal sosial dalam memperkuat kerukunan antarumat beragama tersebut. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara terstruktur dengan tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat, serta warga setempat. Analisis dilakukan berpijak pada teori modal sosial Robert D. Putnam, dengan fokus pada bonding social capital untuk solidaritas internal, dan bridging social capital untuk kerja sama lintas kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi sosial yang dibangun melalui interaksi intensif dan sikap saling menghormati, mampu menciptakan harmoni pada dimensi sosial maupun spiritual. Lebih lanjut, modal sosial berupa gotong royong dan hubungan timbal balik terbukti memperkuat kohesi sosial, serta memfasilitasi penyelesaian konflik melalui kekeluargaan, musyawarah, dan mediasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa harmonisasi di Pekon Teluk Kiluan tidak hanya tercipta secara mandiri oleh masyarakat, tetapi juga ditopang oleh peran aktif pemerintah pekon melalui program dukungan moderasi beragama.
