Abstract

ABSTRAK Corresponding Author: [email protected],[email protected],gesit @radenintan.ac.id Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum optimalnya kapasitas kepemimpinan mahasiswa yang ditandai dengan rendahnya partisipasi anggota dalam pengambilan keputusan, kurangnya inisiatif, dan belum terstrukturnya proses kaderisasi kepemimpinan di lingkungan organisasi kemahasiswaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kepemimpinan pengurus UKM Tapak Suci dalam meningkatkan kapasitas kepemimpinan mahasiswa di UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian lapangan (field research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan 7 informan utama dan menggunakan kriteria purposive sampling, observasi, dan dokumentasi dengan informan yang terdiri atas pembina, pelatih, pengurus inti, anggota aktif, dan anggota tidak aktif UKM Tapak Suci. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan teknik triangulasi untuk menguji keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian diharapkan menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan pengurus berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kapasitas kepemimpinan mahasiswa melalui pembinaan, kaderisasi, pemberian tanggung jawab, keteladanan, serta pelibatan anggota dalam pengambilan keputusan organisasi. Pembahasan penelitian menegaskan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan yang partisipatif dan transformasional mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, tanggung jawab, kemampuan komunikasi, partisipasi aktif, serta kemampuan pengambilan keputusan anggota. Kontribusi penelitian ini adalah memberikan pemahaman mengenai peran kepemimpinan organisasi kemahasiswaan dalam pengembangan kapasitas kepemimpinan mahasiswa serta menjadi bahan evaluasi dan rekomendasi bagi penguatan sistem kaderisasi dan pembinaan kepemimpinan di UKM Tapak Suci UIN Raden Intan Lampung. ABSTRACT This study was conducted due to the lack of optimal leadership capacity amongst students, characterised by low member participation in decision-making, a lack of initiative, and the unstructured nature of the leadership development process within student organisations. This study aims to analyse the leadership role of the Tapak Suci Student Organisation (UKM) executive committee in enhancing student leadership capacity at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. The research method employed was field research using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through interviews with seven key informants selected using purposive sampling, as well as through observation and documentation. The informants comprised the supervisors, trainers, core executive committee members, active members, and inactive members of the Tapak Suci Student Organisation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding using triangulation techniques to test the validity of the data. The research findings are expected to demonstrate that the leadership of the executive committee plays a crucial role in enhancing students’ leadership capacity through mentoring, leadership development, the delegation of responsibilities, setting a good example, and involving members in organisational decision-making. The discussion section of the study confirms that participatory and transformational leadership styles are capable of enhancing members’ self-confidence, sense of responsibility, communication skills, active participation, and decision-making abilities. The contribution of this research is to provide an understanding of the role of student organisation leadership in developing students’ leadership capacity, as well as to serve as a basis for evaluation and recommendations aimed at strengthening the leadership succession and mentoring systems at the Tapak Suci Student Organisation at UIN Raden Intan Lampung.
