Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan metakognisi peserta didik kelas X pada mata pelajaran Biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Way Tenong. Proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru serta minimnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran menyebabkan peserta didik kurang mampu merencanakan, memantau, dan mengevaluasi proses belajarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Deep Learning berbantuan media Padlet terhadap kemampuan metakognisi peserta didik kelas X pada mata pelajaran Biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas XE-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XE-2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kemampuan metakognisi, angket, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan Independent Sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan metakognisi diukur berdasarkan empat indikator, yaitu kesadaran proses berpikir, pengenalan strategi berpikir, refleksi prosedur evaluatif, dan kemampuan menghubungkan pemahaman konseptual dengan pengalaman. Pada kelas kontrol, rata-rata nilai meningkat dari 60,25% menjadi 83,5% dengan N-Gain 0,35 (kategori sedang), sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 66,5% menjadi 94% dengan N-Gain 0,77 (kategori tinggi). Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Dengan demikian, pendekatan Deep Learning berbantuan media Padlet berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan metakognisi peserta didik kelas X pada mata pelajaran Biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Way Tenong. ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the low metacognitive skills of tenth-grade students in Biology at SMA Negeri 1 Way Tenong. The teacher-centered learning process and the limited use of instructional media have resulted in students being less capable of planning, monitoring, and evaluating their own learning processes. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Deep Learning approach assisted by Padlet media on the metacognitive skills of tenth-grade students in Biology. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasiexperimental method with a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two classes: Class XE-1 as the experimental group and Class XE-2 as the control group, with 30 students in each class. Data were collected through a metacognitive skills test, questionnaires, and documentation, and were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity test, and Independent Samples t-test. The results showed that metacognitive skills were measured based on four indicators: awareness of thinking processes, recognition of thinking strategies, reflection on evaluative procedures, and the ability to connect conceptual understanding with real-life experiences. In the control class, the average score increased from 60.25% to 83.5% with an N-Gain of 0.40 (moderate category), while in the experimental class, it increased from 66.5% to 94% with an N-Gain of 0.77 (high category). The hypothesis testing yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Deep Learning approach assisted by Padlet media has a significant effect on the metacognitive skills of tenth-grade students in Biology at SMA Negeri 1 Way Tenong.
