Abstract

ABSTRAK Keterbatasan informasi empiris mengenai hubungan literasi sains dan literasi keberlanjutan menyebabkan belum optimalnya upaya pengembangan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan literasi keberlanjutan melalui pembelajaran sains, khususnya biologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan antara literasi sains dan literasi keberlanjutan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri di Bandar Lampung Pada Materi Ekologi dan Keanekaragaman Hayati. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII pada enam SMP Negeri di Bandar Lampung, yaitu S 24 SKM, S 30 PJG, S 36 SKM, S 39 SKBM, S 40 TB, dan S 45 RJBS. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 188 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan angket literasi sains, angket literasi keberlanjutan, lembar wawancara guru dan wawancara peserta didik serta lembar observasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, linearitas, dan uji korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Hasil penelitian ini adanya hubungan yang lemah dan positif antara literasi sains dan literasi keberlanjutan peserta didik dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig.2-tailed) α < 0,05 dengan nilai,dengan nilai korelasi( r sebesar 0,202). sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang lemah dan positif antara literasi sains dan literasi keberlanjutan SMP Negeri di Bandar Lampung pada mata pelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa bukti data empiris bahwa literasi sains berhubungan positif dengan literasi keberlanjutan, namun bukan merupakan faktor dominan, sehingga pengembangan literasi keberlanjutan perlu didukung oleh faktor-faktor lain dalam pembelajaran biologi. ABSTRACT The lack of empirical information on the relationship between science literacy and sustainability literacy has resulted in suboptimal efforts to develop learning strategies that can enhance sustainability literacy through science education, particularly in biology. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between science literacy and sustainability literacy among seventh-grade students at public junior high schools in Bandar Lampung in the biology course. This research employed a quantitative correlational research design. The sample consisted of seventh-grade students from a population of six public junior high schools in Bandar Lampung— namely Public Junior High Schools 30 PJG, 45 RJBS, 40 TB, 36 SKM, 39 SKBM, and 24 SKM involving a total of 188 students. Data were collected through science literacy tests and questionnaires, a sustainability literacy questionnaire, teacher interview forms, student interviews, and observation sheets. Date analysis involved tests for normality and linearity, as well as Pearson’s product-moment correlation test, using SPSS version 25. The results of this research indicate a weak, positive correlation between students’ science literacy and sustainability literacy, with a significance level (Sig., 2-tailed) of < 0.05 and an r value of 0.202. Therefore, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a weak, positive relationship between science literacy and sustainability literacy among students at public junior high schools in Bandar Lampung in the subject of biology. This study contributes empirical evidence that science literacy is related to sustainability literacy; however, it is not a dominant factor, so the development of sustainability literacy needs to be supported by other factors in the learning process.
