Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed to analyze the practice of Eliciting Technique in EFL classroom interaction at SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2023/2024. The researcher applied Descriptive Qualitative method. The sample of this research was the class X Teknik Audio Video students of SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung which consistedof one class of 14 students. The researcher collected data by using two instruments: the first were direct observation (observation checklist) to obtain dataabout the practice of eliciting technique took place consisting the elicitation technique of teacher and the frequency of students’responses. The second was interview instrument to obtained data about the extentof Eliciting Technique influence the students’ participation in classroominteraction. This instrument was done by the te teacher. it was regarded by 15 statements asked. The research findings show that there were a stimulations from teacher to students and positive feedback from the students. The finding also showed that in average the students had positive statements while there are only very few numberof students have negative statements by analyzing the practice of Eliciting Technique in EFL classroom interction. It could be concluded that there were a positive influence in classroom interaction used eliciting technique.
