Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosure terhadap nilai perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel mediasi pada perusahaan sektor pertanian yang terdaftar dalam Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) Periode 2020–2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari laporan tahunan dan laporan keberlanjutan perusahaan sektor pertanian yang terdaftar dalam Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) selama Periode 2020–2024. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Variabel independen dalam penelitian ini adalah ESG Disclosure, variabel dependen adalah nilai perusahaan yang diproksikan dengan Tobin‟s Q, sedangkan profitabilitas yang diproksikan dengan Return on Equity (ROE) digunakan sebagai variabel mediasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi data panel dan uji Sobel untuk menguji pengaruh mediasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ESG Disclosure tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan. ESG Disclosure berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap profitabilitas. Profitabilitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan. Selain itu, profitabilitas terbukti mampu memediasi secara signifikan hubungan antara ESG Disclosure dan nilai perusahaan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengungkapan ESG belum mampu meningkatkan nilai perusahaan secara langsung, namun dapat meningkatkan profitabilitas perusahaan terlebih dahulu yang kemudian berdampak pada peningkatan nilai perusahaan. Dengan demikian, profitabilitas menjadi mekanisme penting yang menjelaskan hubungan antara ESG Disclosure dan nilai perusahaan. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Disclosure on firm value, with profitability as a mediating variable, in agricultural companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for the 2020–2024 period. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the annual reports and sustainability reports of agricultural companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for the 2020–2024 period. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The independent variable in this study is ESG Disclosure, the dependent variable is firm value, proxied by Tobin's Q, and profitability, proxied by Return on Equity (ROE), is used as a mediating variable. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression and the Sobel test to examine the mediating effect. The results show that ESG Disclosure has no significant effect on firm value. ESG Disclosure has a positive and significant effect on profitability. Profitability has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Furthermore, profitability has been shown to significantly mediate the relationship between ESG Disclosure and firm value. These findings indicate that ESG Disclosure does not directly increase firm value, but it can initially increase profitability, which then impacts firm value. Thus, profitability is an important mechanism explaining the relationship between ESG Disclosure and firm value.
