Abstract
The study uses a quantitative approach with panel data covering 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra during the period 2015–2024. Data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). The analysis was carried out using panel data regression with the Common Effect Model (CEM), accompanied by classical assumption test, partial test (t), simultaneous test (F), determination coefficient (R²), and Sobel test to test the mediation effect. The results of the study show that PMDN has a negative and significant effect on GDP, while PMA has a positive and significant effect on GDP. Telecommunication infrastructure also has a negative and significant effect on GDP. Simultaneously, PMDN, PMA, and telecommunication infrastructure have a significant effect on GDP. The results of the Sobel test prove that telecommunication infrastructure is able to significantly mediate the influence of PMDN and PMA even though PMA has a significant negative effect on GDP. From the perspective of Islamic economics, investment and infrastructure development need to be directed to the principles of 'adl (justice), maslahah (benefit), and falah (welfare) in order to create inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
