Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas V pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, dibuktikan dengan tes awal membaca pemahaman dengan memberikan teks cerita kepada peserta didik. Dalam hal ini, peneliti menggunakan Metode Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahmaan peserta didik kelas V SDN 1 Surabaya Kedaton Bandar Lampung. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu Apakah terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode survey, question, read, recite, review (SQ3R) terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas V di SDN 1 surabaya Kedaton Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh metode survey, question, read, recite, review (SQ3R) terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas V di sdn 1 Surabaya Kedaton Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experiment dengan bentuk desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design yang tidak dipilih secara acak (random). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah Purposive Sampling. Teknikk pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari hasil uji hipotesis Independen Sample T-test yang dilakukan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol didapatkan sig. (2-tailed) adalah 0,001 < 0,05 artinya penggunaan metode survey, question, read, recite, review (SQ3R) memberikan pengaruh terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas V di SDN 1 Surabaya Kedaton Bandar Lampung. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode survey, question, read, recite, review (SQ3R) terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas V di SDN 1 surabaya Kedaton Bandar Lampung. ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students in Indonesian language learning, as indicated by a preliminary reading comprehension test using narrative texts. To address this issue, the researcher applied the Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) method to improve students’ reading comprehension skills at SDN 1 Surabaya Kedaton, Bandar Lampung. The research problem is formulated as whether there is an effect of the SQ3R method on students’ reading comprehension skills in grade V at SDN 1 Surabaya Kedaton, Bandar Lampung. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of the SQ3R method on students’ reading comprehension skills in grade V at the same school. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design, in which participants were not randomly assigned. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected through tests, while data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test. The results of the study show that the hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test revealed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05. This indicates that the SQ3R method has a significant effect on students’ reading comprehension skills in grade V at SDN 1 Surabaya Kedaton, Bandar Lampung. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted, meaning that the SQ3R method significantly influences students’ reading comprehension skills.
