Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesenjangan antara prestasi kelembagaan UIN Raden Intan Lampung (peringkat 1 THE Impact Rankings 2025 lingkup PTKIN) melalui program Eco Campus, dengan realitas perilaku mahasiswa yang masih bersifat instruksional dan reaktif. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana fungsi komunikasi lingkungan berbasis nilai-nilai Islam diimplementasikan untuk menjembatani kesenjangan perilaku tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan integrasi fungsi komunikasi lingkungan dalam program Eco Campus guna membangun kesadaran ekologis sivitas akademika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode lapangan (field research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Informan dipilih melalui purposive sampling, meliputi Ketua TPKBBL, dosen, Duta Lingkungan, dan mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tabel observasi, yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komunikasi lingkungan diterapkan melalui dua fungsi utama. Secara pragmatis, diwujudkan melalui infrastruktur fisik (seperti tata kelola sampah dan efisiensi energi). Secara konstitutif, nilai-nilai ekoteologi Islam seperti kesadaran khalifah fil-ardh, amanah, menjaga mizan, serta larangan fasad dan israf berhasil diinternalisasikan ke dalam kognisi sivitas akademika melalui dakwah lingkungan. Meski sinergi komunikasi berjalan baik, masih ditemukan tantangan kultural berupa behavioral gap, di mana sebagian mahasiswa kerap melimpahkan tanggung jawab ekologis kepada petugas kebersihan. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the gap between the institutional achievement of UIN Raden Intan Lampungranked 1st in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings among State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) through its Eco Campus program, and the reality of student behavior, which tends to remain merely instructional and reactive. The research problem focuses on how Islamic values-based environmental communication functions are implemented to bridge this behavioral gap. Therefore, this study aims to examine and describe the integration of environmental communication functions within the Eco Campus program in building the ecological awareness of the academic community. This study employs a field research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, comprising the Head of the Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Campus Development Team (TPKBBL), lecturers, Environmental Ambassadors, and students. Data collection utilized in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation tables. The collected data were subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that environmental communication is implemented comprehensively through two main functions. Pragmatically, it is manifested through physical infrastructure and regulations, such as segregated waste management and energy efficiency. Constitutively, Islamic ecotheological valuessuch as the awareness of khalifah fil-ardh (stewards of the earth), amanah (trust), maintaining mizan (balance), as well as the prohibition of fasad (destruction) and israf (extravagance) have been successfully internalized into the cognition of the academic community through environmental da'wah. Although the communication synergy runs well, a cultural challenge remains in the form of a behavioral gap, where some students frequently shift their ecological responsibilities entirely to the campus cleaning staff.
