Abstract

ABSTRAK Pers mahasiswa memiliki peran penting sebagai media, sara pembelajaran jurnalistik, kontrol sosial di lingkungan kampus. Dalam menjalankan fungsi tersebut, pers mahasiswa dituntut untuk mematuhi kode etik jurnalistik guna menjamin akurasi, keberimbangan, dan tanggung jawab dalam pemberitaan. Seiring berkembangnya media digital, tuntutan kecepatan publikasi menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi pers mahasiswa dalam menjaga kepatuhan terhadap prinsip-prinsip etika jurnalisti, khusunya pasal 4 Kode Etik Jurnalistik yang melarang pemberitaan bohong, fitnah, sadis, dan cabul, yang dalam penelitian ini dianalisis melalui penerapan verifikasi informasi, prinsip keberimbangan, penggunaan bahasa yang tidak menghakimi, penyaringan konten dan pemberian hak jawab dalam proses pemberitaan di UKM Pers Mahasiswa Raden Intan Lampung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (field reseach) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pada penelitian ini terdapat data primer yang ditentukan dengan metode purposive sampling sebanyak 10 informan yaitu Pimpinan Redaksi, Wakil Pimpinan Redaksi, Kepala Redaktur, Kepala Reporter, Staf Desain Grafis, dan 5 Reporter dan sumber data sekunder yang diperoleh bersumber dari dokumentasi berupa foto-foto saat produksi berita dan beberapa teori yang mendukung terkait dengan pembahasan peneliti. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teori dalam penelitian ini adalah kode etik jurnalistik dan pemberitaan. Hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa proses pemberitaan di UKM Pers Mahasiswa Raden Intan Lampung berlangsung melalui tahapan perencanaan, peliputan, penulisan, penyutingan, dan publikasi yang terstruktur. Implementasi pasal 4 Kode Etik Jurnalistik dilakukan melalui verifikasi informasi, penerapan prinsip keberimbangan (cover both sides) penggunaan bahasa yang tidak menghakimi,penyaringan konten visual, serta pemberian hak jawab kepada pihak terkait. Implementasi tersebut didukung oleh sistem gatekeeping berlapis dan prosedur kerja redaksi yang menempatkan akurasi, keberimbangan, dan tanggung jawab etik sebagai prinsip utama. Dengan demikian, UKM Pers Mahasiswa Raden Intan Lampung telah mengimplementasikan pasal 4 Kode Etik Jurnalistik secara nyata, Konsiten, dan terintegrasi dalam seluruh proses pemberitaan. ABSTRAK Student press plays an important role as a media, a means of journalistic learning, and social control within the campus environment. In carrying out these functions, student press is required to adhere to journalistic ethics to ensure accuracy, balance, and responsibility in reporting. As digital media evolves, the demand for publication speed presents a unique challenge for student press in maintaining adherence to journalistic ethics principles, particularly Article 4 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics, which prohibits false, defamatory, sadistic, and obscene reporting. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Article 4 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics in the news reporting process at the Raden Intan Lampung Student PressCommunity. This research is a field research study with a descriptive qualitative approach. In this study, there are primary data determined using the purposive sampling method with 10 informants, namely the Editor-in Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Head of Editors, Head of Reporters, Graphic Design Staff, and 5 Reporters, and secondary data sources obtained from documentation in the form of photos during news production and several supporting theories related to the research discussion. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The theory in this research is the journalistic code of ethick and reporting. The research results indicate that the news reporting process at the Raden Intan Lampung Student Press UKM proceeds thru structured stages of planning, coverage, writing, editing, and publication. The implementation of Article 4 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics is carried out thru information verification, the application of the principle of balance (cover both sides), the use of non-judgmental language, visual content filtering, and granting the right of reply to the relevant parties. The implementation is supported by a layered gatekeeping system and editorial work procedures that prioritize accuracy, balance, and ethical responsibility as the main principles. Thus, the Student Press Community of Raden Intan Lampung has implemented Article 4 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics in a tangible, consistent, and integrated manner throughout the entire news reporting process.
