Abstract

ABSTRAK ANALISIS MISKONSEPSI KONSEP BIOLOGI DAN ARGUMENTASI ILMIAH DALAM MEDIA EDUKASI DIGITAL ANIME MOYASHIMON PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI Oleh Kisma Deza Perkembangan teknologi digital mendorong pemanfaatan media audio visual termasuk anime, dalam pembelajaran biologi. Salah satu contohnya adalah anime Moyashimon, yang mengangkat konsep fermentasi dan peranan mikroba. Namun, penyajian materi ilmiah dalam anime sering disesuaikan dengan alur cerita sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan miskonsepsi dan memengaruhi argumentasi ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kesesuaian konsep biologi, miskonsepsi, dan argumentasi ilmiah dalam anime tersebut dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi terhadap 11 episode. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi analisis miskonsepsi dan lembar observasi analisis argumentasi ilmiah. Hasil menunjukkan seluruh episode memuat komponen argumentasi ilmiah berupa claim, data, warrant, dan backing dengan presentase 100%, serta mengandung miskonsepsi dengan kategori overgeneralizations 41,66%, oversimplifications 33,33%, dan misidentifications 25%. Penelitian ini memberikan dasar empiris untuk mengevaluasi kelayakan anime sebagai media pembelajaran, dan diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi guru untuk pengembangan bahan ajar dalam memilih serta memanfaatkan media audio visual secara lebih kritis dan terarah. Dengan demikian, Moyashimon berpotensi dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran biologi asalkan dengan pendampingan guru untuk meminimalkan miskonsepsi. ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF MISCONCEPTIONS OF BIOLOGICAL CONCEPTS AND SCIENTIFIC ARGUMENTATION IN THE DIGITAL EDUCATIONAL MEDIA ANIME MOYASHIMON IN BIOLOGY INSTRUCTION By Kisma Deza Advances in digital technology have driven the use of audiovisual media including anime in biology education. One example is the anime Moyashimon, which explores the concept of fermentation and the role of microbes. However, the presentation of scientific material in anime is often adapted to fit the storyline, which has the potential to create misconceptions and influence scientific reasoning. This study aims to analyze the accuracy of biological concepts, misconceptions, and scientific arguments in the anime using a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis of 11 episodes. The instruments used were an observation sheet for analyzing misconceptions and an observation sheet for analyzing scientific arguments. The results show that all episodes contained components of scientific argumentation namely, claims, data, warrants, and backing at a 100% rate, as well as misconceptions categorized as overgeneralizations 41.66%, oversimplifications 33.33%, and misidentifications 25%. This study provides an empirical basis for evaluating the suitability of anime as a learning medium and is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in developing instructional materials, enabling them to select and utilize audiovisual media in a more critical and targeted manner. Thus, Moyashimon has the potential to be utilized in biology education, provided that teachers provide guidance to minimize misconceptions.
