Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar belakang dari penelitian ini yaitu cukup rendahnya keterampilan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas I MIN 10 Bandar Lampung. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu Apakah Model Kooperatif Learning Tipe CIRC Berbantuan Media Puzzle Kata Bergambar Efektif Terhadap Keterampilan Membaca Permulaan Pada Siswa Kelas I MIN 10 Bandar Lampung?. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Efektivitas Model Kooperatif Learning Tipe CIRC Berbantuan Media Puzzle Kata Bergambar Terhadap Keterampilan Membaca Permulaan Pada Siswa Kelas I MIN 10 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi-Experimental Design berbentuk Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas I MIN 10 Bandar Lampung, dengan sampel terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan berupa Model Koopertaif Learning Tipe CIRC Berbantuan Media Puzzle Kata Bergambar dan kelas kontrol menggunakan Model Direct Instruction (Pembelajaran Langsung). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan Independen Sample T-Test menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig (2-tailed) yaitu 0,000 > 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara keterampilan membaca permulaan yang belajar menggunakan model CIRC berbantuan media puzzle dengan kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa model kooperatif leaning tipe CIRC berbantuan media puzzle kata bergambar efektif terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas I MIN 10 Bandar Lampung. ABSTRACT The background of this study is the relatively low level of early reading skills among first-grade students at MIN 10 Bandar Lampung. The research question for this study is: Is the CIRC Cooperative Learning Model, supported by illustrated word puzzle media, effective in improving early reading skills among first-grade students at MIN 10 Bandar Lampung? This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the CIRC Cooperative Learning Model assisted by picture word puzzle media on early reading skills among first-grade students at MIN 10 Bandar Lampung. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasiexperimental design in the form of a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study consists of all first-grade students at MIN 10 Bandar Lampung, with the sample comprising two groups: the experimental class, which received the CIRC Cooperative Learning Model supplemented with Illustrated Word Puzzle Media, and the control class, which used the Direct Instruction Model. The data collection technique employed was a test. The data analysis techniques used were the normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and N-Gain test. The results of the hypothesis test using the Independent Samples T-Test indicate that the significance value (two-tailed) is 0.000 > 0.05; therefore, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This proves that there is a significant difference between the early reading skills of students who learned using the CIRC model aided by picture puzzle media and those in the class that used the direct instruction model. Therefore, it can be concluded that the CIRC cooperative learning model assisted by picture word puzzles is effective in developing early reading skills among firstgrade students at MIN 10 Bandar Lampung.
