Abstract

ABSTRACT Libraries have a strategic role in supporting academic activities in higher education, especially in providing information sources for students, lecturers and researchers. The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has brought significant changes in library management, including within the State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN). This research aims to analyze the implementation of ICT-based library management at PTKIN Lampung Province, identify efforts to improve the quality of library services, and reveal inhibiting and supporting factors in optimizing services for users. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and document analysis at the UIN Raden Intan Lampung Library and the IAIN Metro Lampung Library. The research results show that both libraries have implemented ICT-based systems in their services, such as online catalogs (OPAC), digital reference services, as well as access to electronic journals and institutional repositories. However, this implementation still faces several obstacles, such as lack of training for librarians and users, limited technological infrastructure, and low awareness of users in utilizing digital services. To improve the quality of services, libraries have made various efforts, such as developing digital collections, increasing collaboration with other institutions, and providing technology-based services that are more easily accessible. Supporting factors in improving library services include digital transformation, support for institutional policies, and the availability of access to wider academic information sources. This research concludes that the implementation of ICT-based library management at PTKIN Lampung Province has great potential in improving the quality of academic services, although there are still challenges in its implementation. Therefore, a more comprehensive strategy is needed, such as increasing the competence of librarians, optimizing technological infrastructure, and strengthening the promotion of library services in order to increase the maximum use of information sources.
