Abstract

ABSTRACT Inclusive education in elementary schools is an important approach to achieving an equitable education system while supporting students’ social-emotional development; however, a comprehensive synthesis of its impacts remains limited. This study aims to analyze the influence of inclusive education on the social-emotional development of elementary school students using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data were obtained from the Scopus and SINTA databases within the 2021–2026 period through the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion, resulting in 23 relevant articles. The analysis was conducted using a bibliometric approach with the assistance of VOSviewer and thematic analysis to synthesize the findings. The results indicate that inclusive education positively contributes to improving social interaction, empathy, tolerance, and acceptance of diversity, and also supports cognitive development through collaborative learning. However, several studies also highlight challenges such as anxiety, low self-concept, and difficulties in social adaptation when support is not optimal. These findings emphasize the importance of teacher competence, school readiness, and an inclusive learning environment. The novelty of this study lies in the integrated synthesis of factors influencing students’ social-emotional development in inclusive education, as well as the identification of research gaps that provide direction for future studies.
