Abstract

ABSTRAK The decline in students' learning focus has become one of the challenges in elementary education. This condition is caused by various factors, such as digital distractions, academic demands, and limited self-regulation. Mindfulness is considered an effective approach to help improve students' learning focus. This study aimed to examine the role of mindfulness in improving learning focus and its contribution to strengthening self-regulation among elementary school students. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA guidelines and was supported by bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer. A total of 12 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026 that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were analyzed. The results showed that mindfulness helps improve learning focus by increasing attention control, cognitive flexibility, and self-regulation. In addition, mindfulness helps students manage stress and emotions that may reduce concentration and supports a positive learning environment. The findings also indicate that self-regulation plays an important role in improving students' learning focus. Therefore, mindfulness can be considered an effective strategy to improve learning focus and self-regulation in elementary education. It is recommended that mindfulness practices be integrated into classroom learning through simple activities appropriate for elementary school students.
