Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini menganalisis peran Mata Kuliah Menulis Kreatif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi menulis mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur terhadap enam mahasiswa semester delapan yang dipilih secara purposive dan telah berhasil mempublikasikan novel melalui Mata Kuliah tersebut. Analisis tematik mengungkap empat tema utama, transformasi kompetensi menulis melalui proses rekursif, pembelajaran kolaboratif melalui sesi peer feedback dan diskusi meja bundar, tantangan dalam pengembangan alur, konsistensi karakter, dan pengelolaan waktu yang diatasi melalui strategi adaptif, serta dukungan institusional komprehensif berupa target mingguan, bimbingan bertahap, dan fasilitas ISBN gratis sebagai enabler keberhasilan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Mata Kuliah ini efektif membangun kompetensi literasi produktif calon pustakawan, dan merekomendasikan penguatan intensitas praktik serta perluasan program serupa di program studi perpustakaan lain. ABSTRACT This study analyzes the role of the Creative Writing Course in enhancing the writing competence of students in the Islamic Library and Information Science Program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Employing a phenomenological approach, data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with six purposively selected eighth-semester students who had successfully published novels through the course. Thematic analysis revealed four main themes: the transformation of writing competence through a recursive process, collaborative learning via peer feedback sessions and roundtable discussions, challenges in plot development, character consistency, and time management that were overcome through adaptive strategies, as well as comprehensive institutional support in the form of weekly targets, gradual guidance, and free ISBN facilities as key enablers of success. The study concludes that this course effectively builds productive literacy competence among prospective librarians and recommends increasing the intensity of writing practice as well as expanding similar programs in other library science departments.
