Abstract

ABSTRACT Carousel Activity Strategy is a cooperative learning strategy that emphasizes students’ interaction, discussion, and active participation during the learning process. This research aimed to find out the influence of using Carousel Activity Strategy towards students’ speaking ability at the eighth grade of MTS Darul Ulum in the academic year of 2025/2026. The method of this research was quasi-experimental research. The population of this research consisted of the eighth-grade students of MTS Darul Ulum. The researcher used two classes as the sample of the research, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class consisted of 28 students and was taught by using Carousel Activity Strategy, while the control class consisted of 25 students and was taught by using Active Learning Strategy. The instrument of this research was a speaking test based on several aspects such as fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and the ability to express opinions. The data collection techniques of this research were pre-test and post-test. The researcher used SPSS version 25 to analyze the data, including normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. Based on the research findings, it was found that the sig. (2- tailed) value in the independent sample t-test table was 0.000. It was lower than α = 0.05, which meant that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. The researcher concluded that there was a significant influence of using Carousel Activity Strategy towards students’ speaking ability at the eighth grade of MTS Darul Ulum in the academic year of 2025/2026.
