Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) kelas IV di MIN 11 Bandar Lampung. Proses pembelajaran yang masih didominasi metode konvensional menyebabkan peserta didik kurang aktif, kurang antusias, dan belum mampu menganalisis permasalahan secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV MIN 11 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis quasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV MIN 11 Bandar Lampung, dengan sampel kelas IV B sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 31 peserta didik dan kelas IV C sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 28 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal pretest dan posttest yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya pembeda. Data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan LKPD memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang lebih baik dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, model PjBL berbantuan LKPD efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPAS untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas IV MIN 11 Bandar Lampung. ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of fourthgrade students in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject at MIN 11 Bandar Lampung. The learning process was still dominated by conventional methods, causing students to be less active, less enthusiastic, and unable to analyze problems deeply. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on students’ critical thinking skills in the IPAS subject for fourth-grade students at MIN 11 Bandar Lampung. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students at MIN 11 Bandar Lampung, with class IV B as the experimental class consisting of 31 students and class IV C as the control class consisting of 28 students. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. The research instruments were pretest and posttest questions that had been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminating power. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing through the t-test. The results showed that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by LKPD had a positive effect on students’ critical thinking skills. Students in the experimental class showed better improvement in critical thinking skills compared to those in the control class. Therefore, the PjBL model assisted by LKPD is effective in IPAS learning to improve the critical thinking skills of fourthgrade students at MIN 11 Bandar Lampung.
