Abstract

ABSTRAK Pembelajaran Matematika di sekolah dasar masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, khususnya terkait rendahnya pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep-konsep dasar yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang variatif dan belum sepenuhnya melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif. Kondisi tersebut menuntut adanya penerapan model pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong keterlibatan peserta didik, melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menarik. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan adalah model Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dipadukan dengan media pembelajaran digital, seperti aplikasi Media quizizz. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan Media quizizz terhadap pemahaman peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Matematika kelas IV di SDN 01 Simpang Pematang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yang masing-masing berjumlah 28 peserta didik. Kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan berupa penerapan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Media quizizz, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran inquiry. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur pemahaman peserta didik. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sample t-Test dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pemahaman peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol, yang mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik setelah diterapkan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Media quizizz. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi 0,05, sehingga hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan Media quizizz berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pemahaman peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Matematika kelas IV di SDN 01 Simpang Pematang.. ABSTRACT Mathematics learning in elementary schools still faces various challenges, particularly related to students’ low understanding of basic concepts, which is often caused by the use of less varied learning models that do not actively engage students. This condition highlights the need for learning models that encourage student participation, develop critical thinking skills, and create a more engaging learning atmosphere. One alternative that can be applied is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with digital learning media such as the Media quizizz application. This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Media quizizz on students’ understanding of mathematics in Grade IV at SDN 01 Simpang Pematang. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasiexperimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely an experimental class and a control class, each comprising 28 students. The experimental class received instruction using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Media quizizz, while the control class was taught using conventional learning methods. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments to measure students’ understanding. The collected data were analyzed using instrument validity and reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate a significant difference between the understanding of students in the experimental class and those in the control class. The average posttest score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, indicating an improvement in students’ understanding after the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Media quizizz. The hypothesis testing results showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000, which is lower than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. These findings demonstrate that the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Media quizizz has a significant effect on students’ understanding of mathematics in Grade IV at SDN 01 Simpang Pematang.
