Abstract
ABSTRACT Fruit peel waste has the potential to cause environmental pollution, while excessive use of chemical fertilizers can degrade soil quality, highlighting the need for environmentally friendly fertilizer alternatives. One potential approach is the utilization of eco-enzyme precipitate derived from the fermentation of fruit peel waste. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of eco-enzyme precipitate on the growth of rampai tomato (Solanum pimpinellifolium L.), determine the optimum concentration for plant growth, and assess the quality of the eco-enzyme precipitate. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments: P0 (100% distilled water), P1 (0,2 g/L), P2 (0,4 g/L), P3 (0,6 g/L), and P4 (positive control), each with five replications. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, fresh weight, and dry weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey’s test. The results showed that eco-enzyme precipitate had a significant effect on the vegetative growth of rampai tomato, as indicated by increases in plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, fresh weight, and dry weight. The best treatment was P3 (0,6 g/L), which produced the highest values across all growth parameters. These findings indicate that fruit peel–based eco-enzyme precipitate has potential as an environmentally friendly solid organic fertilizer that can reduce dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers.
