Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya permasalahan kurang optimalnya kemampuan berbicara anak usia 5-6 tahun, yang dipengaruhi oleh media pembelajaran yang digunakan masih belum maksimal dan belum bervariasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Sabrina Tuzzahrah. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan siswa menjadi kurang percaya diri dan tidak antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dibutuhkan untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut dengan memilih dan menerapkan media belajar yang tepat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara yaitu media gambar berseri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan berbicara anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Sabrina Tuzzahrah Sukarame II Bandar Lampung. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Kuantitatif, dengan jenis Quasi Eksperimen yakni Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek yang terpilih untuk menjadi sampel penelitian ialah sebagian siswa TK Sabrina Tuzzahrah Sukarame II Bandar Lampung berjumlah 32 siswa dengan memakai teknik Simple Random Sampling. Penelitian ini terdapat dua variabel, yaitu variabel bebas: media gambar berseri dan variabel terikat: kemampuan berbicara anak usia 5-6 tahun. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas instrumen menggunakan rumus korelasi Product Moment. Uji reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan rumus Cronbach’s Alpha. Uji normalitas menggunakan rumus Shapiro Wilk. Uji homogenitas varians menggunakan Levene Test. Uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent sample t-test. Hasil akhir penelitian ini ditunjukkan dari hasil uji hipotesisnya yakni dengan nilai sig(2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 atau nilai (7,575 > 2,013) sehingga ditolak dan H1 diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan berbicara anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Sabrina Tuzzahrah Sukarame II Bandar Lampung. ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the problem of the less than optimal speaking ability of 5- to 6-years-old children, which was influenced by learning meda used still not optimal and not varied in improving the speaking ability of 5-to 6-years- old children. This condition results in students becoming less confident and less enthusiastic in participating in learning activities. Therefore, this study is necessary to address the above issue by selecting and implementing the appropriate learning medium to improve speaking skills, namely a picture series. This study aims to determine the effect of serial picture media on the speaking skills of 5- to 6-years-old children at TK Sabrina Tuzzahrah Sukarame II in Bandar Lampung. The research method using Quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental type, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects selected as the research sample were 32 students from Sabrina Tuzzahrah Sukarame II Kindergarten in Bandar Lampung, chosen using simple random sampling. This study involved two variables, the independent variable: serial picture media and the dependent variable: speaking skills of 5 to 6 years old children. Data collection instruments included observation and documentation. The validity of the instruments was tested using the Product Moment correlation formula. The reliability of the instruments was tested using the Cronbach’s Alpha formula. The normality test used the Shapiro-Wilk formula. The homogeneity of variance test used the Levene Test. Hypothesis testing used the Independent samples t-test. The final results of this study are demonstrated by the results of the hypothesis test, namely that is sig(2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05 or the calculated t-value greater than the critical t-value (7.575 > 2.013), so H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. This means that there is an effect of picture book series on the speaking skills of 5 to 6 years old children at Sabrina Tuzzahrah Sukarame II Kindergarten in Bandar Lampung.
