Abstract

Abstrack This research is motivated by the limitations of integration between the interpretation of the Qur'ān and the modern psychological framework in understanding anxiety. This study aims to analyze the concept of anxiety in the Qur'ān through the analysis of thematic interpretations of Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2):155 and Q.S. Al-Mu'minūn (23):57, as well as examine its relevance in the perspective of classical psychoanalysis. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of literature research through the qualitative content analysis method combined with thematic interpretation analysis. Primary data are obtained from Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr, Tafsīr Al-Qurṭubī, and Tafsīr AlMiṣbāḥ, while secondary data are in the form of relevant scientific literature in the field of psychology and Qur'ān studies. The results of the study show that anxiety in the Qur'ān is not only understood as a psychological disorder, but also as a divine test that has a spiritual and educational function. Thematic analysis identifies several main categories, namely anxiety as a human psychological response, anxiety as a test (ibtilā'), and anxiety as spiritual awareness (khashyah). A study of classical psychoanalytic theory, especially the thought of Sigmund Freud, the concept is compatible with the anxiety of reality and moral anxiety, while at the same time surpassing it by adding a dimension of spiritual transformation. This study presents an integrative analytical framework between interpretation and psychology, thus enriching the study of Islam while providing practical implications in the approach to mental health. This study concludes that anxiety can be constructive if managed through spiritual practices such as patience, tawakkal, and dhikr. Keywords: : Anxiety, Interpretation of the Qur’ān, Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 155, Surah Al-Mu’minun Ayat 57, Psychological.
