Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematika siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya pada materi operasi hitung perkalian dan pembagian. Kondisi ini dipengaruhi oleh pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru, rendahnya motivasi belajar, serta keterbatasan penggunaan media pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) berbantuan media MathPoli terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design). Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas IVA sebagai kelas kontrol dengan model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dan kelas IVB sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan model STAD berbantuan media MathPoli. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar yang digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Uji hipotesis menghasilkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,004 < 0,05, yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model STAD berbantuan media MathPoli berpengaruh positif dan lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dibandingkan dengan model TGT. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low understanding of mathematical concepts among elementary school students, particularly in the arithmetic operations of multiplication and division. This condition is influenced by teacher-centered learning, low learning motivation, and limited use of learning media. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model, supported by MathPoli, on the understanding of mathematical concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental design. The subjects consisted of two classes: Class IVA as the control class using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model and Class IVB as the experimental class using the STAD model, supported by MathPoli. The research instrument was a learning achievement test used to measure students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The hypothesis test yielded a value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.004 < 0.05, which indicates a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the STAD model assisted by MathPoli media has a positive effect and is more effective in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts compared to the TGT model.
