Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate in depth the characteristics of altruistic behavior among Generation Z and the impact of internal and external factors in the current social context. The focus of this study is to examine how altruism emerges in the digital world and in everyday life alongside technological advances. The main subject of this study is Generation Z, which is the focus of the studies analyzed. The method applied in this study is a non-experimental descriptive approach using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) that follows the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items For Systematic reviews and Meta-analyses) guidelines. References were searched by exploring several academic databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, Garuda, ResearchGate, SpringerOpen, and Semantic Scholar, with a publication period from 2021 to 2025. A total of 40 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed using narrative synthesis techniques, and their quality was evaluated using the SANRA tool. The results showed that altruistic behavior in Generation Z is complex and contextual, with most forms of altruism focusing on the digital world, such as online donations, online social support, and social information sharing. Altruism among Generation Z tends to be rational, situationdependent, and in some cases, symbolic participation (slacktivism). The most significant internal factors in determining altruistic behavior include empathy, religiosity, and emotional intelligence, while external factors include the influence of social media, social norms, digital culture, and emergency conditions. These findings indicate that altruism among Generation Z is the result of a dynamic interaction between psychological factors and an ever-changing social environment. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dengan mendalam karakteristik perilaku altruisme dalam kalangan Generasi Z serta dampak dari faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal dalam konteks sosial saat ini. Fokus kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji bagaimana altruisme muncul di dunia digital dan juga di kehidupan sehari-hari seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi. Subjek utama penelitian ini adalah Generasi Z yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian-penelitian yang dianalisis. Metode yang diterapkan dalam studi ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif yang tidak eksperimen dengan menggunakan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) yang mengikuti pedoman PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items For Systematic reviews and Meta-analyses). Pencarian referensi dilakukan dengan mengeksplorasi beberapa basis data akademis seperti Scopus, Google Scholar, Garuda, ResearchGate, SpringerOpen, dan Semantic Scholar, dengan periode publikasi dari tahun 2021 hingga 2025. Sebanyak 40 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi telah dianalisis dengan teknik sintesis naratif dan kualitasnya dievaluasi menggunakan alat SANRA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku altruisme dalam Generasi Z memiliki sifat yang kompleks dan kontekstual, dengan bentuk altruisme yang kebanyakan berfokus pada dunia digital seperti donasi secara daring, dukungan sosial online, dan pembagian informasi sosial. Altruisme dari Generasi Z cenderung bersifat rasional, bergantung pada situasi, dan dalam beberapa hal memperlihatkan partisipasi simbolis (slacktivism). Faktor internal yang paling signifikan dalam menentukan perilaku altruisme mencakup empati, tingkat religiositas, dan kecerdasan emosi, sementara faktor eksternalnya mencakup pengaruh media sosial, norma sosial, budaya digital, serta kondisi darurat. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa altruisme di kalangan Generasi Z merupakan hasil dari interaksi yang dinamis antara faktor psikologis dan lingkungan sosial yang selalu berubah.
