Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya fenomena perbedaan capaian prestasi belajar siswa, baik dalam bidang akademik maupun non-akademik, yang dipengaruhi oleh efektivitas manajemen peserta didik di lembaga pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan manajemen peserta didik sebagai upaya meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa di Madrasah Al-Fatah. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada tiga aspek utama yang menjadi tahapan strategis dalam manajemen peserta didik, yaitu: (1) analisis kebutuhan peserta didik, (2) rekrutmen peserta didik, dan (3) seleksi peserta didik. Ketiga aspek ini dipilih karena merupakan tahapan awal yang menentukan keberhasilan proses pembinaan peserta didik pada tahap selanjutnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, waka kesiswaan, dan guru; observasi langsung terhadap kegiatan pengelolaan peserta didik dan proses pembelajaran; serta dokumentasi berupa data peserta didik, struktur organisasi, data prestasi belajar, dan arsip administrasi lainnya. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta pengujian keabsahan data melalui triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen peserta didik di MTs Al-Fatah telah berjalan cukup baik dan memberi dampak positif terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa. Pada aspek analisis kebutuhan, pihak lembaga melakukan pemetaan jumlah peserta didik sesuai kuota, memperhatikan ketersediaan sarana, fasilitas, serta latar belakang kemampuan calon santri sehingga proses pendidikan dapat terarah. Pada tahap rekrutmen, sosialisasi dilakukan melalui jalur internal pondok, media sosial, serta jaringan alumni sehingga mendapatkan calon santri yang sesuai dengan visi keagamaan madrasah. Sementara itu, seleksi peserta didik dilakukan melalui berbagai tes seperti bacaan Al-Qur’an, tes akademik, wawancara kepribadian, serta observasi kedisiplinan dan kesiapan mental, guna memastikan peserta didik mampu mengikuti pembelajaran madrasah secara optimal. Implementasi manajemen peserta didik tersebut terbukti berdampak pada meningkatnya prestasi siswa setiap tahun, baik dalam bidang akademik seperti olimpiade sains, matematika, dan karya tulis ilmiah, maupun bidang keagamaan seperti tahfidz, MTQ, dan pidato bahasa Arab. Selain itu, pembinaan disiplin, bimbingan belajar tambahan, serta pengembangan minat bakat melaluiiii keikutsertaan dalam berbagai kompetisi turut memperkuat motivasi belajar siswa. ABSTRACK This research is motivated by the phenomenon of disparities in students’ learning achievements, both in academic and non-academic fields, which are influenced by the effectiveness of student management in educational institutions. Therefore, this study aims to describe the implementation of student management as an effort to improve students’ learning achievement at Madrasah Al-Fatah. The focus of the study is directed toward three main aspects that serve as strategic stages in student management, namely: (1) the analysis of student needs, (2) student recruitment, and (3) student selection. These three aspects were selected because they are the initial stages that determine the success of student guidance and development in subsequent processes. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal, vice principal of student affairs, and teachers; direct observation of student management activities and learning processes; as well as documentation of student data, organizational structure, learning achievement records, and other administrative archives. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that student management at Madrasah Al-Fatah has been carried out quite effectively and positively contributes to improving students' learning achievement. In the aspect of needs analysis, the institution conducts mapping of student numbers based on capacity, considering the availability of facilities, infrastructure, and the initial abilities of prospective students, allowing the educational process to run more systematically. In the recruitment stage, dissemination is carried out through the pesantren’s internal network, social media, and alumni connections, enabling the institution to attract candidates who align with the pesantren’s religious vision. Meanwhile, the student selection process is conducted through several tests such as Qur’an reading assessment, academic test, personality interview, and observation of discipline and mental readiness, ensuring that admitted students are capable of following the pesantren learning process optimally. The implementation of student management has proven to contribute to the continuous improvement of students' achievements every year, both in academic fields such as science olympiad, mathematics competition, and scientific writing, and in religious fields such as tahfidz, MTQ,v and Arabic speech contests. In addition, the development of discipline, additional learning guidance, and talent development through participation in various competitions further enhance students’ motivation to learn.
