Abstract

ABSTRACT Article history: Submitted: 13 January 2026 Final Revised: 24 January 2026 Accepted: 10 February 2026 Published: 23 February 2026 This study aims to analyze the management of the Al-Qur'an memorization program in increasing students' motivation to learn the AlQur'an at the Al-Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in Bandar Lampung by examining the functions of planning, organizing, implementing, as well as assessing and evaluating the program. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, semistructured interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of the tahfidz program coordinator, tahfidz teachers, musyrif, and students directly involved in the program implementation. The results of the study indicate that the management of the tahfidz program at the Al-Hikmah Islamic Boarding School is implemented in a structured manner through setting realistic memorization targets, clear division of mentor tasks, scheduled memorization and muroja'ah deposits, intensive tahsin before the memorization process, and continuous evaluation. The implementation of these management functions contributes positively to increasing students' discipline, perseverance, and motivation to learn the Al-Qur'an. The novelty of this research lies in the placement of tahfidz program management as the main variable in increasing motivation to learn the Qur'an as well as the disclosure of typical practices in the form of fluency before memorization policies, multi-party coordination, and One Day One Juz habituation.
