ABSTRACT The Dynamics of Acceptance in Parents who have Children With Cerebral Palsy By : Hendi Dwi Marianti Parents face emotional demands, changes in life expectations, and the ongoing complexity of parenting roles. These conditions require parents to accept themselves realistically in order to adapt optimally in supporting children with cerebral palsy. This study aims to determine the dynamics of self-acceptance in parents who have children with cerebral palsy. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of two pairs of parents who have children with cerebral palsy. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation. Triangulation with significant others was carried out in this study, and the data were analyzed thematically. The results show that parental self-acceptance is a dynamic, gradual, and individual process. Mothers tend to experience fluctuating self-acceptance, dominated by feelings of guilt and conflict between their ideal and real selves, while fathers show more stable and adaptive self-acceptance. Mature self-acceptance enables parents to manage negative emotions constructively, accept their child's condition, and perform their parenting roles optimally. Support from the immediate environment, religious meaning, and self-reflection play an important role in strengthening the process of parental self acceptance. Keywords: Self-Acceptance, Parents, Cerebral Palsy.
