Abstract
ABSTRACT Inflation is an important indicator of macroeconomic stability influenced by monetary and fiscal factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of money supply and external debt on inflation in Indonesia from an Islamic economic perspective during the period 2010–2024. The study is grounded in the quantity theory of money, which emphasizes the role of money supply in determining price levels, as well as external debt theory and the concept of inflation in Islamic economics that stresses the principles of justice and economic balance. The literature review is based on macroeconomic theory, scientific journals, and relevant previous studies. The research method used is a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The data used are secondary time series data sourced from official publications of Bank Indonesia, the Central Bureau of Statistics, and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that partially the amount of money in circulation has a positive and significant effect on inflation, while foreign debt does not have a significant effect on inflation. Simultaneously, the amount of money in circulation and foreign debt have an effect on the inflation rate in Indonesia. This is indicated by the F-statistic value of 3.003448 and a probability of 0.0004 (<0.05). Controlling the amount of money in circulation and managing foreign debt in an integrated manner are important factors in maintaining inflation stability, so that economic policies need to be implemented fairly, balanced, and in accordance with Islamic economic principles. Keywords: Islamic Economics, Inflation, Money Supply, Monetary Policy, Foreign Debt.
