Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir komputasi peserta didik pada materi Hukum Newton. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran PjBL berbasis STEM dan kelas kontrol yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing melalui pendekatan saintifik. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes essay yang disusun berdasarkan indikator kemampuan berpikir komputasi, yaitu dekomposisi, pengenalan pola, abstraksi, dan berpikir algoritmik. Data diperoleh melalui pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji Independent Sample t-Test, serta uji lanjut Bonferroni dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol dan perbedaan tersebut signifikan secara statistik dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran PjBL berbasis STEM berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir komputasi peserta didik pada materi Hukum Newton. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis STEM efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasi peserta didik dan dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran inovatif dalam pembelajaran fisika. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the STEM-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ computational thinking skills in the topic of Newton’s Laws. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasiexperimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: an experimental class taught using the STEM-based PjBL model and a control class taught using guided inquiry learning through a scientific approach. The research instrument was an essay test developed based on computational thinking indicators, including decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. Data were collected through pretest and posttest and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, the Independent Sample t-Test, and the Bonferroni post hoc test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the posttest mean score of the experimental class was significantly higher than that of the control class, with a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the implementation of the STEM-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model has a significant effect on improving students’ computational thinking skills in the topic of Newton’s Laws. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the STEM-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in enhancing students’ computational thinking skills and can be used as an alternative innovative learning model in physics instruction.
