Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berkomunikasi peserta didik kelas V di SDN 1 Harapan Jaya. Ini dapat dilihat dari peserta didik tampak ragu-ragu atau kurang percaya diri dalam menyampaikan pendapat serta peserta didik juga mengalami kesulitan dalam mengemukakan ide secara runtut dan pasif dalam berdiskusi. Beberapa penyebabnya ialah pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan metode pembelajaran yang kurang interaktif untuk peserta didik bisa saling berkomunikasi, serta pembelajaran IPAS yang masih sulit dipahami peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran peer teaching terhadap kemampuan berkomunikasi peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas V di SDN 1 Harapan Jaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis Quasi Eksperimental Design (Eksperimen Semu), menggunakan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas V di SDN 1 Harapan Jaya, pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Populasi sebanyak peserta didik. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purposive Sampling, kelas V A sebagai kelas eksperimen menggunakan Metode pembelajaran Peer Teaching dan kelas V B sebagai kelas kontrol menggunakan Metode pembelajaran Demonstrasi. Teknik pengumpulan data untuk mengetahui kemampuan berkomunikasi peserta didik menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Untuk analisis data digunakan prasyarat analisis yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis dengan taraf pengujian signifikansi 5% (0,05). Berdasarkan pengujian uji normalitas diperoleh bahwa data tidak berdistribusi normal sehingga analisis dilanjutkan menggunakan uji nonparametrik yaitu uji Mann-Whitney U Test dan diperoleh nilai sig.(2- tailed) sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 yang berarti hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode pembelajaran peer teaching terhadap kemampuan berkomunikasi peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas V di SDN 1 Harapan Jaya. ABSTRACT This research is based on the low communication skills of grade V students at SDN 1 Harapan Jaya. This can be seen from students who seem hesitant or lack confidence in expressing their opinions and students also experience difficulties in presenting ideas in a coherent and passive manner in discussing. Some of the reasons are learning that is still teacher-centered and learning methods that are less interactive for students to communicate with each other, as well as IPAS learning that is still difficult for students to understand. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of peer teaching learning methods on students' communication skills in science class V subjects at SDN 1 Harapan Jaya. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Design type, using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted in grade V at SDN 1 Harapan Jaya, in the 2025/2026 school year. The population is as large as students. Sampling was done using Purposive Sampling, class V A as an experimental class using the Peer Teaching learning method and class V B as a control class using the Demonstration learning method. Data collection techniques to determine students' communication skills using questionnaires and documentation. For data analysis, analysis prerequisites were used, namely normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test with a significance test level of 5% (0.05). Based on the normality test test, it was obtained that the data was not normally distributed so the analysis was continued using a nonparametric test, namely the Mann-Whitney U Test and a sig value was obtained. 2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05 which means that the zero hypothesis (H₀) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the peer teaching learning method on the communication ability of students in the science class V subject at SDN 1 Harapan Jaya.
