Abstract

Abstract Article History: Received: 20 november 2025 Revised: 25 november 2025 Accepted: 8 September 2026 Published: 30 September 2022 *Corresponding Author: Name: Nidaul Fauziah Email: [email protected] This study examines the practice of radha’ah (breastfeeding) from a Qur’anic exegetical perspective on QS. Al-Baqarah verse 233 using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The research process involved systematic stages of literature identification, screening, and selection. Article searches were conducted through the Publish or Perish (PoP) application using PCC based keywords: “radha’ah,” “breastfeeding mother,” and “tafsir Al-Baqarah 233.” The initial search yielded 7,507 articles from Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and JSTOR. These articles were subsequently filtered using the PRISMA framework and analyzed with Rayyan.ai based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 13 articles eligible for further analysis.Thematic relationships among the selected 2 studies were mapped using VOSviewer, revealing major clusters related to radha’ah, breastfeeding practices, and the interpretation of QS. Al-Baqarah verse 233. The findings indicate that the imperative (amr) form in the verse is generally understood by mufassirs as a command; however, its legal implications are interpreted diversely. Some mufassirs regard the command as obligatory under certain conditions, while others interpret it as a strongly recommended practice. These interpretations are commonly grounded in the understanding that breast milk is a natural consequence of pregnancy and the primary source of nutrition for infants in the early stages of life.This exegetical understanding is further contextualized within the framework of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, particularly the principles of ḥifẓ al nafs (protection of life) and ḥifẓ al-nasl (preservation of lineage), which emphasize the importance of safeguarding human life and generational continuity. Overall, this study highlights the relevance of QS. Al-Baqarah verse 233 in developing a comprehensive understanding of radha’ah within the Islamic intellectual tradition. Al-Baqarah ayat 233 dengan menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Proses penelitian meliputi tahapan identifikasi, penyaringan, dan seleksi literatur secara sistematis. Pencarian artikel dilakukan melalui aplikasi Publish or Perish (PoP) menggunakan kata kunci kerangka PCC: “radha’ah”, “ibu menyusui”, dan “tafsir Al-Baqarah 233”. Pencarian awal menghasilkan 7.507 artikel dari Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, dan JSTOR. Artikel tersebut diseleksi menggunakan langkah PRISMA dan dianalisis melalui Rayyan.ai berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, hingga tersisa 13 artikel yang layak dianalisis lebih lanjut. Pola keterkaitan tematik antar literatur diidentifikasi menggunakan VOSviewer, yang menunjukkan klaster utama terkait radha’ah, kewajiban menyusui, dan tafsir QS. Al-Baqarah 233. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mufasir memaknai bentuk amr dalam ayat tersebut dipahami para mufasir sebagai bentuk perintah, namun implikasi hukumnya dimaknai secara beragam. Sebagian mufasir memandangnya sebagai kewajiban dalam kondisi tertentu, sementara sebagian lainnya menafsirkannya sebagai anjuran yang sangat ditekankan, dengan pertimbangan bahwa ASI merupakan konsekuensi alami dari kehamilan dan sumber nutrisi utama bagi bayi pada masa awal kehidupannya. Pemahaman ini selaras dengan maqasid al-syari‘ah, khususnya hifz al-nafs dan hifz al-nasl, yang menekankan pentingnya menjaga jiwa dan keberlanjutan generasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan relevansi ayat tersebut dalam memperkuat pemahaman komprehensif mengenai radha’ah dalam perspektif keislaman. Kata Kunci: Rada’ah; Ibu Menyusui; Tafsir Al Baqarah 233
