Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas tinjauan Hukum Keluarga Islam terhadap peran tokoh adat dalam melestarikan tradisi adat dalam perkawinan pada masyarakat adat Lampung Pepadun di Kampung Murai Kelurahan Korpri Raya Kecamatan Sukarame Kota Bandar Lampung. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah adanya kecenderungan penyederhanaan bahkan pengurangan prosesi perkawinan adat ditengah arus modernisasi, sehingga dikhawatirkan mengurangi nilai filosofis dan identitas budaya masyarakat. Dalam situasi tersebut, tokoh adat memegang posisi penting sebagai penjaga, pengarah, sekaligus penyesuai tradisi agar tetap relevan tanpa keluar dari koridor syariat Islam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap tokoh adat, pasangan yang melaksanakan perkawinan adat, serta masyarakat setempat. Teknik pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini dengan cara pemeriksaan data, klasifikasi data, dan rekonstruksi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh adat memiliki peran yang multidimensi dalam pelestarian tradisi perkawinan adat Lampung Pepadun, yaitu peran ritual spiritual yaitu memimpin dan mengarahkan prosesi adat, edukatif dan kultural yaitu menanamkan nilai adat dan makna simbolik kepada masyarakat, mediator adaptif dimana menjembatani kepentingan keluarga, kemampuan ekonomi, dan tuntutan zaman, serta koordinatif kolaboratif yang bekerja sama dengan aparat kelurahan dan tokoh agama. Dalam perspektif Hukum Keluarga Islam, peran dan praktik tokoh adat dinilai sejalan dengan prinsip urf yang sah serta konsep maslahah, selama tidak bertentangan dengan rukun dan syarat sah nikah. Tradisi adat dalam perkawinan diposisikan sebagai penguat ikatan perkawinan atau mitsaqan ghalizan dan media pengokoh keharmonisan keluarga serta identitas kultural umat Islam Lampung Pepadun. ABSTRACT This study discusses the review of Islamic Family Law on the role of traditional leaders in preserving traditional customs in marriage among the Lampung Pepadun indigenous community in Kampung Murai, Korpri Raya Village, Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung City. The background of this study is the tendency to simplify or even reduce traditional marriage ceremonies amid the tide of modernization, which raises concerns about diminishing the philosophical values and cultural identity of the community. In this situation, traditional leaders hold an important position as guardians, guides, and adapters of traditions so that they remain relevant without deviating from Islamic law. This research is field research using a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation of traditional leaders, couples who performed traditional marriages, and the local community. The data processing techniques in this study were data examination, data classification, and data reconstruction. The results of the study show that traditional leaders have a multidimensional role in preserving the traditional marriage customs of Lampung Pepadun, namely a spiritual ritual role in leading and directing traditional ceremonies, an educational and cultural role in instilling traditional values and symbolic meanings in the community, an adaptive mediator role in bridging the interests of families, economic capabilities, and the demands of the times, and a collaborative and coordinative role in working with village officials and religious leaders. From the perspective of Islamic Family Law, the role and practices of traditional leaders are considered to be in line with the principles of valid urf and the concept of maslahah, as long as they do not conflict with the pillars and conditions of a valid marriage. Customary traditions in marriage are positioned as a reinforcement of the marriage bond or mitsaqan ghalizan and a medium for strengthening family harmony and the cultural identity of the Lampung Pepadun Muslim community.
