Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Biologi di SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition (AIR) berbantuan media Powtoon terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian meliputi seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 331 peserta didik. Sampel penelitian ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan memilih dua kelas sebagai kelompok utuh (intact group), yaitu kelas X.8 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.10 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan total 68 peserta didik, tanpa dilakukan randomisasi individu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model AIR berbantuan Powtoon berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 41% menjadi 84% dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 73% (kategori tinggi), sedangkan kelas kontrol meningkat dari 39% menjadi 55% dengan N-Gain sebesar 26% (kategori rendah). Selain itu, self confidence peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan dari 56% menjadi 86% dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 56% (kategori sedang menuju tinggi), sementara kelas kontrol meningkat dari 53,30% menjadi 66,24% dengan N-Gain sebesar 24% (kategori rendah). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran AIR berbantuan media Powtoon efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Biologi. The study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the Auditory, Intellectual, and Repetition (AIR) learning model with the aid of Powtoon on students' critical thinking skills and self-confidence. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study population included all 331 tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. The research sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique by selecting two classes as intact groups: class X.8 as the experimental class and class X.10 as the control class, with a total of 68 students, without individual randomization. The results showed that the implementation of the AIR model with the aid of Powtoon had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The average critical thinking ability of students in the experimental class increased from 41% to 84% with an N-Gain value of 73% (high category), while the control class increased from 39% to 55% with an N-Gain of 26% (low category). In addition, the self confidence of students in the experimental class increased from 56% to 86% with an N-Gain value of 56% (medium to high category), while the control class increased from 53.30% to 66.24% with an N-Gain of 24% (low category). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the AIR learning model assisted by Powtoon media is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills and self-confidence in Biology subjects.
